ONGC rises over 2% on spurt in crude oil prices

Shares of Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) soared over 2 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange as Brent crude oil prices surged near 2015 after North Sea pipeline shutdown.

Driven by rise in crude oil prices, shares of the company gained as much 2.26 per cent to touch an intra-day high of Rs 182.95 apiece on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

In a similar fashion, shares of the firm were trading 1.17 per cent higher at Rs 181.00 apiece on the National Stock Exchange.

Meanwhile, the broader benchmark BSE Sensex was trading at 33,293.77, down 162.02 points, or 0.48 per cent, at 12:45 hours.
