Sensex, Nifty trade higher; RIL, Yes Bank top gainers

Indian benchmarks continued to trade higher during the noon trading session supported by gains in index heavyweights including Reliance, Yes Bank, HDFC, LT, and Hindustan Uniliver among other.

In broader markets, the Nifty50 index crossed the 11,000 mark with oil refining and marketing companies - HPCL, BPCL and IOC - rallying over 4% each in morning trade.

RIL's m-cap crossed $100-bn mark in intra-day trade today, after hitting a new high. It became the second Indian company to cross the milestone after TCS

At 13:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 36637.4 up by 371.47 points or by 1.02 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 11043.15 up by 94.85 points or by 0.87 per cent.

Sensex touched intraday high of 36699.53 and intraday low of 36422.08 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11078.3 and intraday low of 10999.65

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1090.05,+5.18%), YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 380.50,+2.46%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1302.75,+2.17%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1968.00,+2.06%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 1743.10,+1.69%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 912.05,-1.99%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 3092.45,-1.96%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1294.80,-1.94%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 3490.00,-1.43%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 153.10,-1.16%), among others.

Among the sectors, Oil&Gas index was at 14174.54 up by 244.78 points or by 1.76%. Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1090.05,+5.18%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 378.05,+2.86%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 270.40,+2.02%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 157.00,+1.19%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 158.85,+0.76%),.

On the flip side, Realty index was at 2091.71 down by -21.93 points or by -1.04%. Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 476.15,-2.70%), Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd. (Rs. 155.55,-2.60%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 187.90,-2.14%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 701.95,-0.38%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2732 , shares advanced were 1315 while 1264 shares declined and 153 were unchanged.
